This project involved the study, design, and preparation of contract plans and related documents for the construction of a new corporate headquarters office complex located along US Route 119 in Boone County, West Virginia. The project was delivered via a Design-Build contract.
The project scope of services included the design of an approximately 4-acre site that overlooks US Route 119 in Boone County and included preliminary and final grading plans, storm water design including detention, utility design within the site, as well as a package treatment plant and force-main effluent discharge line.
Additional responsibilities included the design of a new entrance and turn lane on US Route 119 and an access road into and through the site. The site design included final paving and parking design, a helipad, decorative pond with fountain, security bollard system, and secondary service road design.
As part of their commitment to their employees, Massey incorporated a paved walking trail into the overall plan for this project. This walking trail encompassed the perimeter of the site and included lighting and emergency panic devices as security measures.
Additional site design responsibilities included obtaining all permits, including N.P.D.E.S. permit, WV Health Department, and Putnam County Planning Commission permits. Surveying services included topographic mapping for design purposes, survey plat development, and construction stakeout.
