This Design-Build project involved the study, design, and preparation of contract documents for a 300-unit gated community to be constructed on a ridge top with an incredible view of the State Capitol and the Kanawha River. The development features two heated swimming pools, a 24-hour fitness center, and executive leasing. Plans include expanding to 500 units and an on-site restaurant.
Site design responsibilities included subdivision lot layout, grading, 1 mile of access roadway design, 1.5 miles of internal roadway design, pavement design, as well as the design of the storm water system. Utility design included a sanitary sewer collection system and water distribution system, including an additional water storage tank. The sanitary sewer collection system included:
- 2 – Miles of 8” Gravity Collection System
- Pump Station Upgrade
- 163 – Manholes
Additional design responsibilities included obtaining all permits, including N.P.D.E.S. permitting for the site work, as well as WV Health Department and Kanawha County Planning Commission permits.
Surveying services included horizontal and vertical control, topographic mapping for design purposes, survey plat development, and construction stakeout.
