Project Description

Working closely with Edward Tucker Architects, we were responsible for the overall site and structural design for a new 7,500 SF Fire Station located in downtown Huntington, West Virginia.

The structural design for the 3-bay facility included foundation design, steel framing design, roof framing, reinforced masonry wall design, and reinforced concrete slab design for a facility that included meeting rooms, training rooms, sleeping quarters, a kitchen, and three pull-through truck bays.

The site design for this project included existing site demolition planning, pavement removal, new pavement design, preliminary and final grading, landscaping, utilities, and parking striping plans, as well as new entrance and exit design onto city streets.

Additional design responsibilities included topographic survey mapping, a Boundary Survey, the development of sediment and erosion control countermeasures, and project permitting.
