This project involved the study, design, and preparation of contract plans and related documents for the construction of a new access road to the hospital campus located in Wayne County, West Virginia. The project was undertaken on the Design-Bid-Build method of delivery.
The project scope included the design of an approximate ¾-mile, two-lane access road in Wayne County and included preliminary and final geometric design, pavement design, storm water design and management, lighting design, signing, and temporary traffic control, as well as construction administration and right-of-way plans.
The project involved a total of 250,000 CY of excavation and included the placement of more than 2500 Tons of asphalt. Additionally, Cement Soil Stabilization was utilized in areas of poor soil to reinforce the road bed and provide a solid base for the final paving.
Additional responsibilities included topographic surveying, utility verification and coordination, and sediment & erosion control plan and management. Surveying services included horizontal and vertical control, additional mapping, and construction layout.
