Upon securing a bid for the Rocksdale Truss Bridge Replacement, ALL Construction, Inc. contracted with Randolph Engineering to value engineer the proposed prefabricated truss bridge proposed for this project. Working closely with All Construction and the WVDOH, we designed a single-span bridge that better fit the site conditions and saved the WVDOH money upfront, as well as will save money on long-term maintenance.
Founded on integral abutments, the new bridge consists of a single span of 179’-0” utilizing 3-lines of 54” welded steel plate girders for the superstructure with a reinforced concrete deck. The bridge is 18’-6” out-to-out and is located on a tangent alignment and on a 0-degree skew.
The scope included an analysis of the original hydraulic study to confirm the proposed hydraulic model.
